God is Here

Often we will sing a song on Sundays that speaks to my heart and I can’t get it out of my mind for days.

“There is a sweet anointing in this sanctuary. There is a stillness in the atmosphere. O come lay down the burdens you have carried. For in this sanctuary God is here. He is here! God is here! To break the yoke and lift the heavy burden. He is here! God is here! To heal the hopeless heart and bless the broken.”

Some days are days when God’s praises flow off our lips. We just can’t help to praise Him. We get the holy goose bumps running down our spine. We realize that we can praise Him in our car, in our home, in the rain, and everywhere we go. We soon realize that God’s sanctuary is us. His presence is in us, and He causes us to overflow with praise.

When we get a glimpse of who God really is, we will want to praise Him when we first wake up. We will want to praise Him even before our feet touch the ground.

As we praise the Lord, our burdens become lighter because we will want to share every part of ourselves with the one whom we give praise. We realize God is able to do exceedingly above all that we ask or imagine.

I hope you start this day praising the Lord for who He is and all the wonders He has done. I hope you can say to the Lord, I want You to be here. I want Your presence as real to me at this moment as it is at church. God, I want You here to be in the midst of my life. I hope you can sing in your heart that God Is Here.

Have a great day and keep moving forward!

Psalm 84:1-4

How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young- a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you. Selah (Psalm 84: 1-4, NIV)
